Exiting new position – Project Manager Inclusion!
We are looking for a person with relevant higher education and competence, including preferably experience with developing and facilitating trainings and/or organisational development. The details of the work to be carried out, as well as the final design of the job description, will be developed in close dialogue with the person selected.
The key deliverables of the position will be:
- Measurable increase in OECD/DAC reporting on inclusive aid amongst the Norwegian NGOs, with key focus on long term aid
- Documented results through positive feedback from the key stakeholders
- The establishment of an online resource bank on inclusive development
- Lead the Atlas Alliance work on promoting inclusion in Norwegian aid and development organisations
- Coordinate and carry out trainings and mentorship activities to support the organisations’ increased need for knowledge and skills in inclusion of persons with disabilities
- Coordinate and facilitate the use of trainers from the Atlas Alliance organisation and other relevant stakeholders
- Build and maintain a web-based portal and resource bank for inclusion
- Contribute to new and innovative ways of promoting inclusion
- Organise meetings in the inclusion network, consisting of relevant Norwegian stakeholders
- Administer the Small Grants scheme, an Atlas initiative that promotes inclusion in the development and aid sectors
- Relevant higher education
- Relevant experience from aid or development sectors, preferably with the inclusion of persons with disabilities
- Knowledge of and experience from Disabled Persons’ Organisations (DPOs) is highly desirable
- Relevant experience from developing training materials, or facilitating capacity development and/or organisational development will be an asset
- The working language of this project is English. However, working knowledge of a Scandinavian language would be beneficial as Norwegian is the working language of the Atlas Alliance inclusion network as well as of the Atlas Alliance secretariat. It is not, however, an absolute requirement pending the overall qualifications of the candidate.

More background on the Atlas-alliance
The Atlas Alliance is an umbrella organisation consisting of Norwegian organisations of persons with disabilities. Since 1981, the Atlas Alliance has supported projects for persons with disabilities in countries in the South. Seven Norwegian Disabled Persons’ Organisations (DPOs) are currently active in the alliance. The Atlas Alliance is funded by Norad through the Civil Society window and is currently managing two agreements: Together for Inclusion, a consortium agreement with 15 organisations and a total budget of NOK 494 million over four years (2019-2022), and a framework agreement for 2020-2024. Partners in Together for Inclusion include large INGOs such as Save the Children Norway, Plan Norway, Norwegian Church Aid, ADRA Norway and others. This innovative collaboration aims to strengthen DPOs and to encourage Norwegian development organisations to improve their work on inclusion of adults and children with disabilities.
